I would not recommend that anyone do business with United Auto Transportation (UAT).
I do acknowledge that I requested delivery of the cargo trailer by April 4, 2017. That said, I was contacted by Mitchell and he requested that the transport be moved up to March 14, 2017 with a delivery date of March 16 or 17, 2017 depending on the weather in the Northeast. I agreed and made arrangements to be available for delivery on either the 16th or 17th. Living in the hardest hit part of the Northeast during the March 14 storm I let Mitchell know that I, of course, would want to put driver safety first and was willing to be flexible. By March 16th all roads and highways where clear and safe. On Monday the 13th Mitchell texted me stating they “got caught in a bind.” He stated that he will be picking up the trailer on the 15th and still planned for a delivery on either the 16th or 17th. It is my understanding that UAT should be in contact with me regarding changes, pick up, and delivery. They never contacted me so I texted Mitchell at 5:21 PM on the 15th requesting an update.

Mitchell replied that he was “not comfortable headed up until at least late Friday/Saturday due to the PA/DC conditions they are anticipating over 5-10 new inches (on Wednesday/Thursday) on the rural routes we are anticipating Sunday if that is alright with you.” This was a lie as I checked the NOAA weather for these areas and there was no snow forecast at that time. In fact, according to NOAA, there was a possibility of light rain/snow on Friday/Saturday, the time he stated they would be transporting the trailer. Mitchell then stated he would shoot to have it here by Saturday as anticipated. Saturday was never even mentioned as a delivery date. Mitchell stated he would call me later that day. He never did so I texted him at 10:00 PM on the 15th to try and get the date firmed up.

Mitchell then stated, “I can book you for GUARANTEED Sunday delivery. We agreed that the trailer would be delivered on Sunday, March 19, 2017 anytime, afternoon or evening after 1:00 PM.

Since I never heard back from Mitchell, I sent a text to Mitchell Saturday morning, March 18th and requested confirmation for Sunday the 19th delivery. After over an hour I sent a second text request to respond. Mitchell then stated, “ The problem I am facing is I’m trying to get your trailer to you when I have one other job in front of yours.”

So after getting potential real weather delays that turned out to be not a problem, fake weather delays, getting “caught in a bind, now it appears my delivery is not worth the trip unless he has “another job in front of me”…………

Early on I explained to Mitchell that I am on the road quite a bit myself and that I needed to get a firm delivery date. I already burnt two day, the 16th and 17th. If I’m waiting for a delivery, I’m not making money. Time is a premium for me. I run my own business and am a police officer. I don’t think it is unreasonable to get a firm date. Instead I was lied to and kept having dates changed and had to be proactive in communication because UAT did not advise me of their delivery changes.

I am the paying customer and I don’t like constant changes, poor communication and being LIED to. If they simply stated that they would call me when they KNEW the pick up and delivery date I would have been good with that. I gave UAT several attempts to fulfil their commitment, at a financial cost to me, to no avail. I simply got fed up and fired them. Poor customer service, poor communication, poor fulfilment. RUN, RUN, RUN!
