Like most folks I read as many reviews as I could, Daniel from United Auto Transport seemed to have good reviews so I settled on them. The original quote was for $1600, $1400 to the driver and $200 to United. Daniel told me that given this was coming from the west coast, United may have broker this transport to a sub. Once the subcontractor was selected, Yukon Express, Daniel informed me that they wanted $1500 for transport costs. So Daniel reduced United's brokering fee to $100 so my overall shipping costs stayed the same. The driver showed a day early and delivered here in Florida 3 days early (on a Sunday too!). Yukon was very nice to deal with, I dealt with the drivers wife most of the time, and she kept me informed throughout. One pitfall I was able to avoid....once the arrangements were set, the pick-up and drop-ff day/time was at the convenience of the driver. I didn't have a hard date that the vehicle HAD to be picked up and delivered. If you can get yourself in that situation...do it. That way when a company says "we can pick up tomorrow but it's $200 more," you'll have the luxury of passing on that company until a driver will take it for the quoted price. Some folks get caught with a do or die date and then have to choose between paying the up charge or not getting your car delivered when they need it. Do that or call Daniel at United. I'll be calling him if I need to move anything else cross country again. Thanks guys.
