After 2 brokers putting me on the load board without a contract and 1 broker I foolishly gave a credit card to (I didn't read the contract and lost my $150 deposit) the first brokers told me on the phone that they would search for a good price and hung up. Immed put me on the board. The broker I hired was cheaper and kept saying they couldn't get a truck because the other brokers had me posted higher. Come to find out they low balled me to get my credit card #. After 12 days I hired Trusty (an actual carrier) and they loaded it in 2 days and delivered 2 days later. No deposit, no credit card. I paid the driver after delivery. So mad I didn't read the fine print on the one broker and letting the other brokers say that they had a "verbal contract". It cost me $150 and a week and a half. Just hire a carrier from the start and never never ever give out a credit card #.
