I have never had a vehicle shipped before and was anxious to get my recently purchased vehicle off the car lot and in my driveway. Transport Services called me in response to filling out an online request for a quote. The salesperson hooked me in by saying they could pick up the vehicle within 2-3 days and that they are a USDOT carrier - which means they own the truck and employ the driver. That gave me some extra piece of mind knowing that I was not going through a broker that would have no accountability. The price quote was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.

My adventure started when I could not get a hold of anyone in customer service to tell me exactly when my car would be picked up - even after my salesperson transferred me over directly. After leaving multiple messages, I finally found out that my car had been put on the truck - only after I called the dealership where I bought it!! Transport Services said the car would be picked up on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. It ended up being Thursday afternoon - so not too bad in terms of timing.

Next, I could not get a hold of anyone at TS to get the driver's contact information or location. After multiple attempts of being on hold for 5-10 minutes and then having the call go to voicemail, I was finally able to get through to obtain that information.

Finally, I thought I would call to double check how much to have my cashier's check made out for to pay the driver to have the car released to me. Thankfully I did, because TS tried to jack the price up another $50 from the quoted contract price I signed. They said it was for a "fuel surcharge" which was completely bogus. On top of that, I found out that the truck and driver were not owned/employed by TS, but was a contractor!! They said they could not get one of their trucks to UT for 7 days, so they contracted it. Why not just tell me that in the first place??

Bottom line is that I received my car in decent shape (just very dirty) within a reasonable amount of time. The contracted driver was great to deal with. However, the lack of communication, the deception in the price (although they later refunded me the $50 they added on), and the less than honest sales tactics would lead me to choose another carrier in the future.
