We started out with a different broker, hired by the dealer who sold us the car in Florida for delivery in Indiana. The first broker never called me...I had to call him to find out anything at all - the rate, the delivery and pick up dates, what to expect in general. After 5 days of nothing happening, I called Transport Connection, based on the reviews I saw on this site. Those reviews included ONE TERRIBLE REVIEW, but after looking at the rest, I decided that one must be an aberration, as all the rest were EXCELLENT, and suggested that Bill (the owner/operator) would put forth plenty of effort to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Sure enough, after speaking with Bill, he immediately began to actively call truckers that he had previously used, and in less than 24 hours had lined up the shipment pick up and delivery to our specifications and needs.

What some may not know, as it isn't obvious when researching auto shipment options, is that brokers can't really set a price...their quote is only their best estimate of what it will cost for the shipment on a given date, given the current demand and activity. After giving you a quote, the brokers then put the job out to bid...and see who, if anyone, will take the job a that price. Consequently, many people who ship cars end up being disappointed or irritated because they ended up paying more than their quote, or have to wait a long time before a carrier picks up a low-ball bid.

Bill was straightforward about these matters, explaining that he could put in a bid at one price, but we would then have to see if there were interest, and that there might be some negotiation to engage the carrier. If there were lots of cars waiting to be shipped, then the carriers were in position to ask for more money, if we wanted to have delivery soon. That's exactly what happened, and to Bill's credit, we still only paid $50 more than his original bid. He put me on the phone with the carriers as part of the negotiation, to keep things totally above board.

The car arrived as anticipated, and in good condition. The drive was helpful, courteous, and communicative, calling me the day before arrival to set a time and place for pick up. All in all, I'm pleased with how this transaction played out, especially with Bill's active approach to securing a carrier, his honesty, and his straightforwardness. I would definitely use Transportation Connection again, and recommend it to anyone whose primary objective is to get the job done quickly and correctly. Will Bill come off a little aggressive over the phone? Possibly, but remember that is what you want. He will get the job done. You will get your car when you want it.
