Unfortunately, I chose State by State Transporters to broker the move of my car. According to their advertisement, the service was supposed to be door-to-door. I assure you it was anything but...I was told by SBS that the driver would call me 24hours before the pick up- how about the driver calls 4 days before my scheduled pickup...from way down the street. I was out taking care of last minute business so I had to rush home, clean the car out, and THEN drive the car to where it was convenient for the driver...I had to walk home in the rain- but hey, I'm a good sport, right? The driver tells me that the car will be delivered on Wednesday but arrives in Tacoma on Monday- again with no prior warning and once again...no call...no warning...from way down the street. Again. (This is NOT what I consider "door-to-door" service- I had to get a ride to pick my car up. When I got there, I immediately knew something was wrong because the driver was all shifty-eyed and acting nervous. He rushes towards me and even opened up the driver side door for me but a car was coming so (for safety reasons) I ran over to the passenger's side. My car was purchased in Atlanta, Georgia but I now see that the car has snow and salt stains on the tires and under carriage as if its been driving through the snow! Upon further inspection, I notice that somehow the lock on the passengers side door has been bashed in! As you might imagine, I quiz the driver about it but he simply averts his eyes, and denies any responsibility (but he's already talking to his supervisor- Coincidence? I think not). Of course, the supervisor says they're not responsible because they didn't do anything. The driver proceeds to ask me for $45 MORE than was quoted to me by SBS so I call SBS- my "trusted" broker- who tells me they're not responsible AND to "call the insurance company!" I left 1/4 tank of gas in the car but during the ride home, I noticed that the car now had less than 1/8 gas in the tank!

When I got home, I called the bogus insurance agent who informs me that "the damage is not covered" and that I should "take it to the dealership and have them to fix it" and promptly hangs up. Thinking we were simply disconnected, I call back but the agent won't answer the phone! I decided to wait a few days and call SBS again. When I called, Kelly (the CSR) was sick so I talked to the sport who's taking her place in "customer service" today. He was a really rude guy named "Max Seymor". Mr. Seymor was very rude, unproffessional, and kept over-talking me which actually escalated the call well beyond what it should have been. He finally gave me a wrong number to the department of transportation to file a complaint against the carrier (Motion Auto Transport) that THEY hired...telling me that they have a 97.7 % rating and that basically that @#&$ happens.

I advised "Mr. Seymor" that I would be writing a poor review about SBS poor customer service. When I did, he had my first review DELETED by telling Transport Review that I was NOT a customer! I had to send them email correspondence and a copy of my contract to prove that indeed- yes, I am a customer and had the right to write a review about my experience with them. Obviously, Transport Review agrees.

As a customer of SBS Transport, they should have represented my interests better than they did...rather than the "hands off" approach. I had never had my car transported and I trusted them to represent me but when the going got tough...they bailed...treating me like yesterday's trash.

As a member of the armed forces- I would never use this company again or recommend them to any of my service brothers or anyone else. I had to contact the Secretary of State to find the articles of incorporation for Motion Auto Carriers to find out who the owner is, get a physical address to have them served and find the insurance carrier information (not the agent) to file a claim.

While I understand that things don't always go according to plan, this was additional and unnecessary. What a pain- I should have just driven my car to Washington.

Let's start this response off right... We helped our customers in the best way possible and try to retify the situation in a timely fashion. This customer, Tracee Simpson, called us to pick up the car on the 26 of February, job done. She got delivered within 9 days from Washington State to Georgia. Great Job!!!! But she leaves us, the broker, a bad review on something that happened between the carrier’s and herself. Some customers are hard to please. Well she called Hillary Clinton, “SECRETARY OF STATE”, had a chat with her about Motion auto carriers and Hillary sent her a cigar and told her she will look into it. Yea, of course. Also reading down, she says the driver is “shifty-eyed” like Sméagol in “Lord of the Rings”. Well if I’m a customer and i have to walk or have a driver that shows me that i need to have any concerns on having my vehicle shipped, then i would have made a phone call to my broker and told them that i wanted another driver. Use your common sense people. As a customer, I’m shipping my biggest assets and i wouldn’t release it to someone that scares me. Everything we do is by the book and is set in the contract. We are the broker, and we do not own the trucks, we are not responsible for the damages done by the carrier (if any) but we will try to help our customers out as much as possible.
