I contacted State by State in early March, signed their contract and sent it back to them.
Teddy seemed like a nice guy and quoted me 2400 to move my Mercedes ML500 from Florida to Seattle, then from Seattle to Anchorage, Alaska. Maybe he is a nice guy and the others here are incompetent and jerks.
They have at least three phone numbers : 561-859-3017, 954-856-7235 and 1-800-760-7087

I kept notes of my dealings with State by State as follows :
3/6 I submitted a request for price quote to them.
3/7 I sent the contract back.
3/8 They verified that they had gotten the contract.
After more than a week of hearing nothing from them, I called and was told they were still looking for drivers.
3/15 They told me that a "contract isn't a quote" and that the quote for the service might be more than the $2400 amount stated in my contract. They also promised to give me a callback once a day from this point on. They also went on about the amount that I had told them to offer the driver; I told them the quote came from their side, not mine.
3/16 They got their $200 deposit despite having done nothing for me up to this point, probably because they knew I was getting pissed and would cancel soon (I should have done so but I stupidly held out hope of their actually coming through).
3/21 Teddy called me and said they found a driver and to call 3/22 am.
3/22 They told me they found a driver and they would call me back by the end of the day.
3/23 I left messages and received no call backs.
3/26 I was told they were looking at a different driver.
3/29 I finally was able to talk to someone, evidently a higher-up who yelled at me and complained that they did try to call me each day and my phone just rings and rings. Well, I have caller id and it showed exactly ONE call from them, which proved they had my correct phone number and just backs up the fact that they are liars. I told them I was cancelling my contract since they had not fulfilled their part and that I would get my deposit back because of breach of contract. The person on the phone could not find my contract (yep, you read that right; I guess their filing system entails throwing stuff in a box).
4/5 - I verified with them that they cancelled my order

I'm leaving out the many times I called and left messages on each of the phone numbers asking for them to call me back which they ignored. They must also have caller id so they don't pick up the phone a lot of the time. I know this must be the case because on 4/5, they knew my name before I even identified myself.

I know they'll post a response here saying that there are two sides to every story, blah blah blah, but the truth is that I want everyone to know not to use these jokers. After cancelling with State by State, I went with another broker who had my car scheduled for pick-up within a week. The other broker kept me informed as to what was going on each step of the way, as well.
