**If you haven't agreed to work with this company yet, don't. Find another shipper. **

I live in Texas, and I recently bought a Mercedes from Memphis, Tennessee that I needed delivered to my home. I was actually working with another company that was supposed to deliver the car by Friday, the 27th of January, but their driver canceled. Thus I went in search of a company that could potentially get the car delivered on Saturday, the 28th. I had a ton of different quotes ranging from $385 up, and State by State's happened to be the highest at $550.

The reason I decided to go with State by State is because they were the only shippers that GUARANTEED that I would have my car on Saturday. They said without question that my car would be picked up late Friday or first thing Saturday morning, and it would get to me by Saturday afternoon. I called on Friday night just to reconfirm all of this, and Carl said that absolutely, without a doubt I would have my car on Saturday.

I called the dealership at 11 on Saturday morning and the shipper still hadn't been there. When I tried calling multiple numbers for State by State, no one would answer. Then I finally got a hold of James on what may have been a cell phone number, and he said he would check with dispatch and give me a call right back. 30 minutes later, I called him to see what was going on. I got sent to voice mail every single time I called.

I eventually called on a different phone I have that has a different area code. He answered right away that time, put me on hold to "check on something," and then the phone just randomly cut out. I couldn't get in contact with him for the remainder of the night.

I ended up speaking to Edward Way, someone with a post on this review page, and he gave me the numbers to some other people that work for the company. That led me to Teddy, who gave me the number to the actual driver for my order. I called the driver, and he said that he told the shipping company from the start that he would not be able to deliver the car until Tuesday. Did anyone tell me that though? Nope. Teddy actually said that the car was supposed to already be shipped, according to what he could see on his end.

Long story short, I had to wait until late Tuesday to get my car, which is the time that all the other shipping companies had given me. If i would have known that was the time frame, I would have purchased cheaper shipping. These people were IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with, especially when I needed some serious answers. I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever work with them again, and I would encourage you to do the same.

****UPDATE****

Maybe five minutes after I posted this review the first time, the owner of the company called my cell phone asking why I left such a terrible review for his company. He did not appreciate the fact that I discussed all of the problems I had with the company but failed to mention that the car was delivered. Yes, I received the car. The driver was competent, and that end of the process went just fine. That, however, does not detract from the fact that I was promised a service I did not receive. Max, the owner, said that I basically cannot trust anything his representatives say because their promises do not mean anything. To that I replied, "Then they shouldn't work for your company."

I was literally yelled at on the phone for over 20 minutes with the owner trying to justify the actions of his company. After I told him I would not change my review and did not see eye to eye with him, I was finally able to get off the phone. Then I get an email from this site saying that my review was removed because "State-By-State Transporters was unable to locate my order and has no way of proving that I was a customer of theirs"...yet the owner personally called me on the phone to discuss the order. Hmmm.

After I got off the phone with the owner, I received an email from uShip.com saying that I had placed a request for transport on their site, and I received over 40 emails of shipping quotes for a car I already had on my driveway. The quotes had my email address and phone number on them, but they had a slightly different name, a different car model, and a different location that was somewhat like my original request. I cannot verify that State-by-State was the company that posted those quote requests, but I can say that they went up less than an hour after I got off the phone with the owner. The IP address for one of the requests was within a few miles of State-by-State's headquarters in Lantana, Florida, but again, I cannot say it was them for sure.

This is by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company and I STRONGLY suggest all car transporters to stay clear of these people. Save yourself the stress and find another shipper. Period.

Remember there is two sides to every story. Thank you for the business. A very key point in this review was that we got the vehicle shipped out at an affordable price and we was well within our contract. We picked the vehicle up the next day.but we recieve a horrible rating because you call after business hours. No one can guarantee a pick up date but a human being will ony tell what they want to tell.
