They got the job done as promised

We chose Specialty Mobile because of their consistent high ratings and promise to pick the car up on a specific date. My son was leaving California via plane and returning to the east coast so we couldn't afford a missed pick-up date. They were not the cheapest alternative, but we needed to be sure the job was done as promised.
It was, although they did not warn us that the delivery would need to be somewhere other than our house. It wasn't easy, but the driver followed our directions and we were able to get them to a site that wasn't too far away and allowed them to unload the car safely.
While Specialty Mobile Systems is very highly rated and I was fairly confident choosing them, the carrier they actually used had a very different rating history. It made us more than a little nervous, but as I said the car was delivered in good shape and we even left some clothes in the back of the car that arrived undisturbed.
I liked that Specialty Mobile was a carrier themselves, or so I thought. It appears the actual agent business is just a few folks that work far removed from the actual transport business. They certainly did not use their own truck for our transport, an outcome that was probably just wishful thinking on my part. Nonetheless, I initially thought that I was contacting someone who could do just that.
All-in-all, a good experience in that everything turned out as hoped. Can't help but wonder if we were just lucky or Specialty Mobile really does have enough pull to get good service out of the actual transporters they use. Their ratings would imply the latter, and I have no evidence contrary to that.
