I actually used Specialty Mobile Systems twice in the past 7 months. The first time was in September from Boston to San Diego and the second was in late March from San Diego to Boston. Each time, my car arrived to my destination in exactly 8 days from the date of pickup w/no damage. Customer service was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and accessible each time. The drivers were very nice. Cost was reasonable each time - the first was $1,200 and the second was $1,050. My best advice is to not concern yourself with cost so much as the quality of the transporter you are using. The better ones usually charge a bit more and they are well worth it! Better to have peace of mind for a few dollars extra than to try and save $$ initially and end up having to pay a lot more (financially and mentally) in the long run. Specialty Mobile gets my highest recommendation and i would not hesitate using them again!! Hope this posting helps someone as it did me back when i was first seeking a reputable carrier.

Not sure if Transport Reviews will post this next part, but I hope so, as it is very important! I shipped my furniture cross country (from San Diego to Boston), also. My mover for that was Golden Eagle Moving (www.goldeneaglemoving.com), who is affiliated w/United Van Lines. From beginning (customer service w/Ann (i think that was her name) and Stacey) to end (my mover was Carl and his son, Carl Jr.) - all parties involved were execeptional!! Very professional, patient, courteous, friendly and honest!! I had heard numerous horror stories involving many other furniture moving companies, but could not have been more pleased w/my experience w/Golden Eagle. I would also give them my highest recommendation and not hesitate to use them again!! As w/a vehicle shipper, do not concern yourself w/higher quoted initial costs for furniture shippers. The reputable ones are well worth it (Golden Eagle gave me a "not to exceed quote".) Also, beware of any moving companies which ask for upfront payment when reserving their services. Go w/a company that requires payment in full at time of delivery! It is far more difficult to find reviews of furniture transporters, but www.movingscam.com was very helpful for me. That is where i found Golden Eagle. Thank you.
