This is my first experience with auto transport. I was first overwhelmed by the number of companies/brokers who have contacted me and was surprised by the fact that there is no regulations relating to the process and the prices have a big range. Tom at the Honesty First Auto Transport Inc. has good knowledge about the process, after the contract, they will post the request on the dashboard, kind of like website, and hauler all over the country can see if the price is adequate and the route is convenient to make the decision to haul the car. I am impressed about Tom's knowledge, but not quite impressed about how the whole process was handled. Since the broker is charging us for a fee, I think they should be more active by providing us the service to contact haulers to make the transport a more streamlined process. Unfortunately there were very few effort being made. Since the car has been there for some time, Tom decided to reduce the broker fee and increase the hauler fee. I thought that was very nice and considerate for the customer. But at the end, he did not keep his words and still charged us the amount before the hauler was assigned. I don't know if that is common practice in this business to keep raising the price. So the car was shipped started with $875 for the hauler fee and after three weeks, I paid $950 plus $125 for the registration. I understand that the gas price is up. But if I have to do it again, I may decide to buy a used car with the money. That may be more economical. So like to the bankers I would say, please don't get too greedy. I don't expect that you are running business like Salvation Army, but at least it should be reasonable for all the parties. Otherwise, we will not return for the next business. Thanks.
