Made me feel comfortable

***NOTE: Honesty offers customers $10 to review their company which is why SOOOO many check that they were compensated. I would happily reject compensation so I didn't flag it since I would post a review no matter what.

I've never had to send a car before so wasn't sure who to trust. I got quotes from a few companies and felt the most comfortable with Honesty (originally quoted $1000). David got all my information and told me that as soon as dispatch had someone that I would have to pay them $150. The rest of the money would be paid directly to the driver in cash, cashiers check or money order.

I hadn't heard from him in a few days and followed up with him. He explained how the process works and said I should hear something soon and asked if I was willing to pay an additional $50 to get a quicker bid; I was. ATS (Prev. Alpine Transport Services LLC) took the bid and Silvio contacted my mom the same day for a pick up the next night. The pickup happened at about 10pm in a near by parking lot.

As soon as he got there and saw the pickup with a taller cab on the back and knew there was a problem. David never asked about a cab and therefore didn't quote me the right price. Silvio said he would need an additional $300. Since I was paying for this and it was 1am my time, my mother had to negotiate on her own and refused. Eventually she talked him down to an additional $100 (total now up to $1,150)

He said he would leave Friday and should be there Wednesday. He told her that he would call the night before if he could meet in the morning or the afternoon if he could meet that night. A few storms went through the US and I figured Wednesday wouldn't happen. When we didn't get a call by Thursday I left a message for him. He called back Friday afternoon to let me know he would be dropping it off Saturday around midnight. Saturday at 9:30pm he called and said he would be there around noon Sunday. Sunday noon turned in to 4pm; he had problems and delays with other vehicles on the truck.

Thankfully we could be flexible and all of this wasn't a problem for us. Moral, BE FLEXIBLE AND UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE WEATHER!!! We were happy to see the truck in perfect condition and happily handed over our cashier's check in 9 degree weather. Make sure to know good places that are easy for big transport trucks to unload vehicles.

I would have loved to track my vehicle as it made it's way across the country but that wasn't available. Instead, I got a company that responded when I called or e-mailed and a driver that responded within a day. Works for me!
