I've shipped cars a couple times before and have had pretty good luck overall but this time took the time to do more research. I ended up deciding to do business with Honesty First, based on the good reviews and talking to them directly. They don't take your deposit until they've secured a carrier... another bonus. In the past, I've been stung here (a different company) & had to fight to get my deposit back.

I dealt with Tom from Honesty First. He made the whole process very clear and simple for me. He told me it may take a little while to get my car picked up, as Vermont is off the beaten path a bit, but I expected that anyhow. I called Tom 4 days after placing my order, to just check in. He was quite confident it wouldn't be too much longer and told me to feel free to check back if I hadn't heard anything in a few days. 3 days later I got a call that a carrier was coming to pick the car up within the next day or so.

A few hours later, I got a call from the driver (Gilbert from VIP Auto Carriers). He was wonderful! He arrived to pick our car up that evening and was so nice and reassured me he would be with the car until Los Angeles and that it would not come off the truck until then. At that point, he said, it may be moved to a smaller truck for the final delivery (which it was), and a different driver took over that last hour stretch (which he also informed me of). Gilbert told me the transport would most likely take 7-10 days but to feel free to check in with him directly anytime. I called him on a Monday (7 days after pickup) to just check in and he said it looked like it would be probably Thurs or Fri. It ended up being Thursday, so took 10 days total, exactly within the estimated time frame. Thank you Gilbert!
