I'm not a big fan of using Transport Reviews for shipper ratings because it seems like every vendor has a stellar rating but if you look at Yelp, peoples' experiences are different. I'm a real customer and had a 1970 MGB hauled from FL to CO. I shopped for a shipper for several weeks because I quickly learned there are a lot of games being played - especially giving a low rate and coming back significantly higher when the car is being delivered. Customers are forced to pay the difference at delivery if they want their car. Ship a Car Direct was not the cheapest nor the most expensive broker. They are not the direct shipper but have a list of vetted companies that they work with according to my account manager. Their fee is around $200-300 and that fee is included in the *estimate* that they give based on what they calculate from the Central Dispatch program that every broker and carrier live and die by. There was a promise given that I would be contact prior to shipping if the estimate would be different from the actual cost. In my case, the estimate is precisely what I paid. The carrier didn't make his initial drop off estimate but was in communication with me. I had the carrier's direct number so I could reach out when I needed an update. The car made it undamaged. The carrier was kind and friendly. The overall experience was good. I would definitely use this broker again if needed and have recommended them to others.
