NOTE: Ship a Car Direct is not the actual company shipping your car; they are a broker who will help find someone to ship your car and put you in contact with them. Ship a Car Direct was really helpful throughout the entire process of shipping my car. One of their representatives was able to help me fill out the forms to ship your car (car information, estimated shipping date, estimated arrival date, etc). Once the time came closer for my car to be shipped (about 1 or 2 weeks in advance), they notified me it was time they would start looking for someone to ship my car, and sure enough they found someone to put me in contact with. Met up with the driver, flew out, and surely enough, the day before expected arrival date, I got a call keeping me updated. You can also contact the driver as well, as their contact information is provided in case you want to check in more frequently. The next day, I got my car and everything seemed good. Given that Ship a Car Direct is a broker, there is a brokerage fee that you pay upon submitting your form. On the expected arrival date, you have to pay the driver, usually in cash or cashier's check. 2 separate payments were made in this entire process. Avoiding the brokerage fee by contacting drivers yourself can probably save a couple hundred dollars, but it's more or less a convenience fee, not having to look around as much yourself. Overall, good ship. Pretty straight forward, and very helpful customer reps.
