The booking process is fairly straightforward: you place an order; receive a bunch of emails telling you everything will be fine; then they match your order to a carrier (in my case, 4 days later); then you contact the carrier for pickup time and date. Then, The car is delivered as promised the day after (8hr driving distance). The quote will be spilt into two parts: broker fee and payment (in cash) to the carrier; about 1/3 goes to the broker and the rest to the driver. What is missing is that the price went up $50 that he original quote. But there is no such communication of the price change at all. Also there is not a vetting process for you to approve the carrier. In my case, I did not worry much about it so it is fine with me. If you do care about it, make sure you communicate with the agent.
