I would certainly recommend Ship a Car Direct for those looking to transport their vehicles. As a first timer shipping from Florida to California I was pretty pleased by the whole experience. The only reason I don't give a 5 star review is due to a small bump in the road, but even with that Ship a Car Direct was quick and responsive in solving the matter. I recommend you do some research on the process of shipping a car before just calling around and relying only on what companies are saying while they are giving you a quote. Having done research came in handy when talking to the reps. Outside of smaller details, they all seem to function more or less the same. Ship a Car Direct was the second company that i spoke with for a quote, but the company that stood out the most in customer service and ease out of the five that i spoke to. From the initial conversation, my rep, John, was extremely helpful and thorough. One of the first questions he asked was if this was my first time shipping my car to which i answered yes, but that I had been doing some research on how it all worked. He was very detailed and informative when addressing all my questions and concerns. One of the things that I really appreciated was how he was not pushy in selling me on their service in particular, especially since he knew that i was calling around. In fact, he recommend some talking points and details to address and keep in mind when talking to the other companies. The whole process after deciding to go with Ship a Car Direct was relatively smooth, and their customer service was great through everything. I called back a few times to get clarification on things and every time the reception via phone and e-mail was pleasant and helpful. The bump in the road wasn't necessarily Ship a Car Direct's fault really, but it caused some worry as someone doing this for the first time, and having a strict pick-up date deadline. The original carrier that had picked up my route ended up canceling, but this was only discovered after I had not heard from my driver the morning of the estimated pickup date. I reached out to John, and left a voicemail. He got back to me within about one hour explaining the the driver had cancelled, and that they were working on finding me a new driver. The following morning, the original driver (that had cancelled) reached out to me to try and setup a pickup time and location. Assuming Ship a Car Direct had found me the other person i set it up, but thankfully I decided to connect with John on the matter as there had been miscommunication of some kind between Ship a Car Direct and the driver. I informed the driver to please connect with Ship a Car Direct as I was waiting for instruction from them. The driver was pleasant and understanding about what happened. This instance made me pretty nervous as i was about two days away from my absolute pickup deadline. These companies can't really guarantee a pickup or drop-off date, but I felt I had given a pretty good range on the pickup and drop off dates. I knew i had to be flexible going in, but I did make it clear that come a certain day I would have to leave. John was really confident on my dates and route from the beginning, so I wasn't nervous until the miscommunication happened. Ultimately, within a day they found me anther driver that picked up my car within my available window and all was well. My drop off date was very flexible, and my communication with the driver during the transport was good and easy. My car made it to California just the way I sent it off! Well, except for the dirt, but that was expected! If I need to ship my car again I'm calling Ship a Car Direct.
