Christina at Ship a Car Direct was great at answering my questions originally and did follow up until my bid was picked up. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is just because I wasn't able to get my vehicle transport the way I preferred. It really wasn't Ship a Car Directs fault but the whole experience goes hand in hand. You have to remember that they are brokers and not the actual transporters. They can give you quotes but it is the actual transport carriers that set the actual price. Just like real estate; location, location, location. It is what mainly is going to set the pickup & delivery date, price, and how many drivers are going to want to make the run. I was wanting a vehicle picked up in Salt Lake City, Utah and delivered to a small town in VA with enclosed transport. Christina did advise that this may be a problem since it was not near a heavily traveled route. Five days in and no one even tried to pick up my bid. I switched to open carry and waited some more. I was about ready to cancel my bid and fly out there to get it myself when someone finally picked it up. The driver was courteous and responded to my texts at the end of his driving day and we worked together for delivery since he arrived in my area in the middle of the night. I received my vehicle in the following morning with only road grit (which you have to expect on open carry) as the only thing "wrong" with the vehicle. So as long as you understand the limitations of Ship a Car Direct (or any broker) and realize that it is the driver of the transport company (which very likely could be the sole owner/operator, as in my case) that has the major control of everything and they make the decisions on whether or not they even want to make the run that would deliver your vehicle, then my experience with using Ship a Car Direct and the auto carrier (R&T Logistics) was a good one.
