Seattle to Austin - Went Great

My husband and I were moving from Seattle, Washington to Austin, Texas. We had two cars and a motorcycle to take with us. In order to get all three vehicles there, one of us either needed to make two trips driving, or we needed to ship one of our cars.

We read on Yelp! and the BBB about people having trouble with significant damage to their vehicles as well as drivers holding their cars hostage until the owner coughed up more money than the original quote. Our schedules as well as the weather decided the issue for us. We were reluctantly shipping my 2016 Dodge Charger.

We chose Ship a Car Direct (shipacardirect.com) as our broker. I called and talked to Matt. He assured me that my car would be fine, and that I would not be charged a single penny more than the dollar amount they quoted. He pointed out several helpful videos on their website as well as a link to their app which I was to use when my car was picked up and, again, when it was delivered.

A few days after I placed the order with Matt, I received an email informing me that Autonation Carriers, Inc. would be transporting my car. The email contained the estimated pick up date, the cell phone number of the driver, and a support number at Ship a Car Direct.

The driver contacted me one day after the estimated pick up date. We met at a large parking lot since I live on a small street. I used the Ship a Car Direct app to walk me through taking photos of specific areas of my car. Then it emailed my photos to the company as well as a copy to myself. I handed the driver my car key, and he took it from there.

The morning of our estimated arrival date, I got a text from the driver asking when and where we could meet to pick up my car. Again, I used the app to take multiple pictures of my car and email them to Ship a Car Direct. The driver was patient while I went through the process. Except for being filthy, my car was exactly the same as when he picked it up. No dents or dings. Yea! One car wash later, it was perfect.

The driver asked for exactly what we were quoted. We were so pleased, that we gave him a generous tip. Ship a Car Direct kept in contact with me via email during the whole process. They even sent me a text and, later, an email, verifying that I had my car and was happy with their service.

I would definitely use Ship a Car Direct again if I ever need to ship my car.
