Before choosing Ship a Car Direct, I looked around online at a few different carriers and received a few different quotes. I decided it would behoove me to check on the BBB to see the reviews of some of the carriers before making my choice. That solidified my decision since at the time of choosing, Ship A Car Direct had a A- with the BBB - certainly considerably better than a lot of the other carriers that received C’s and the like.

I received my initial quote right away and with the price being so reasonable ($675 to go from Tampa, FL to Grafton, WI) it made the decision easy.

My first driver was pretty late on the pick up day. I was contacted the day before by the dispatch and told he’d be there at 8:30am. He didn’t actually make it there until 3pm. This wasn’t too big of a deal since I had the day free, but to find out he wasn’t coming until 3pm I had to contact the driver directly. Unfortunately he spoke very little English so this proved to be somewhat challenging.

After the car was in transit, I received a call from the driver saying he was delivering the car, but it was 3 days before I was available to receive the car due to the move from Florida to Wisconsin. I contacted Jennifer at Ship a Car Direct and she worked with the dispatch to make sure everything was lined up and the driver would not actually deliver the vehicle until the agreed upon delivery date.

Somewhere between when I spoke with the initial driver and when the car was delivered the vehicle was moved from an open transport to a closed transport. I called the original driver on the original delivery date and he stated his truck had broken down and that’s why the vehicle was moved from one transport to the other. Again, not a big deal, just a lack of communication on the part of the actual shipper.

The car showed up in perfect condition and once the delivery date and time were established, the driver showed up right on time. While I was feeling a little uneasy at times regarding the carrier and the lack of communication, Ship a Car Direct did a great job getting me the information I needed to make sure I knew what was going on. I would certainly use them again in the future.
