Car arrived safely, but scheduling was a nightmare.

Bottom line up front: Scheduling and communication were problematic, but the car arrived undamaged.

I shipped my car as part of a cross-country military move. I booked with ship-a-car direct. In order to make the itinerary work, I had to leave the car behind with friends to meet the truck. Five days passed after the first available pickup date with only promises that "we're working on it." I understand that the city I wanted the car shipped to was a bit off the beaten path, but being given timelines for a vendor that they could not meet was aggravating for both myself and the friends who volunteered to meet the truck.

Once the car was picked up, I was told that there was an "estimated" delivery date via both email and voice confirmation. So my family and I made plans to stay with extended family several states away, and arrive in the destination state a day prior to the scheduled delivery. So imagine my shock and panic when I'm still in Massachusetts en route to Virginia and I get a phone call saying "I'm ready to deliver your car in a few hours." Apparently, the driver had only been told the "do not deliver before" day that had been quoted in the initial price quote and was not told what the estimated delivery day that had been quoted to me was.

To the driver's credit - he agreed to meet me the next day on the other side of D.C. in suburban Baltimore (where we were able to stay with friends). The changeover was very straightforward. The driver was exceptionally communicative, and very friendly. The car arrived in good condition.
