I was very nervous getting a car I just purchased transported from a dealership in San Rafael, CA to NJ. I opted for 'Ship a Car Direct' based on their ratings and positive reviews on the transportreviews.com website. The quote was slightly higher that other transport companies but I thought the extra peace of mind with the additional insurance provided by Ship a Car Direct instead of relying exclusively on the vehicle transport carrier was worth it.
From the time I accepted the quote, Scott was very prompt in responding to my emails and quick conversations on the phone. He conveyed my requests to pick up the car a bit earlier than the estimated pick up time since this would be more convenient at the dealership and avoid week-day traffic. I had also requested to avoid having the car on top or at the end of the trailer to minimize any issues with debris/dirt. The car was picked up in CA on the week-end and arrived in NJ on Friday - this was 2 days ahead of the estimated ETA. Upon receipt, i found that the rear of the car had more than expected dirt which were mostly lots of bugs squashed on the rear window and frame. I guess this is to be somewhat expected from driving cross country for 2800 miles but it propably would have had less impact if the car was placed in another location on the trailer. I can't fault 'Ship a car direct' on this minor issue as it was more the option of the car transporter/driver to load it as requested. Overall, this was a stress-free experience and I would definitely use 'Ship a Car Direct' based on my first time experience with their service.
