While deciding on a carrier to transport my car from the East coast to West coast, I decided to use Shipacarirect. After visiting their site and reviewing the videos and FAQs, it was a relief to that that they would vet local carriers and select one that was reputable. As a broker, they do charge for their service, but for peace of mind - it will be worth it. Did have trouble connecting with regional rep. After a few days, the call was finally returned. The local carrier called one day early to say that he would be picking up the car in one hour...told him this was a mistake. Driver said he would call his dispatcher...dispatcher called later that day and scheduled the pick up for the following morning. True to his word, the driver called the following morning - 30 minutes before pick up (5:45 am). It was still dark out so it would be difficult for the driver to inspect the car for existing damages. He was using his flashlight on his smartphone to conduct the inspection! He likely recorded more minor dents, scratches and discolorations that were actually there. Wasn't too concerned...figured with the open transport...flying rocks or debris would cause some damage (minor). Had not heard anything from the local carrier after one week, but the broker sent an email advising to contact the carrier about an ETA. Called and they got back within one day and was given the day of arrival and approximate time (3 hour window). The morning of, received a call that the driver would be waiting outside with the car...he was. it arrived in good condition and made sure it was running. The driver remarked that the car was clean considering the trek...the snow in Montana likely helped. Nothing was missing. Overall a good experience.
