Price went up once carrier was assigned but...

To start off, I was iffy about dishing out the cash to transport my 2003 Honda Civic in the first place. It was going to cost me roughly the same price as my car was worth to ship it across the country but after weighing in several factors, I decided to take the plunge. I went with Ship A Car Direct firstly because of the price. They were hands down the best price. Second, they had a ton of great reviews online from satisfied customers and lastly because they proudly advertise that they will not work with a carrier again if a customer has a bad experience. With a million other things to stress over when moving with young children and pets, my car needed to get across the country without any chance of something happening so that was really what solidified it for me.

Once I confirmed the pick-up date, I was able to cancel at any time without a fee as long as it was before a carrier was assigned. Ship a Car Direct charges their fee at the time the carrier is assigned then I had to have cash or a cashier's check to make the final payment to the actual carrier (a pain but I understand why they do it). I set up for my car to be available for pick-up on a Thursday and a carrier wasn't assigned until Monday. This seemed like a long time at the time because I was car-less for that entire time but since I left instructions that my car wasn't available for pick-up on the weekend, it only really took 2 days. Angela also notified me that the carrier wanted $100.00 more apparently due to the time of year (May). I wasn't too happy with that but it was a part of the fine print that the price could change and Angela took $50.00 off of her fee in consolation. The carrier assigned was Martin Transport and they were very good at communicating. Every time I called, if they didn't answer the phone immediately, they called right back. They also only took 3 days to bring my car from San Diego, CA to Buffalo, NY!

They also offered a $30.00 rebate for submitting this review. This was included in the quote but I had to call them and ask for instructions on how to get the rebate.All other past communications were automatically sent in an e-mail so I'm sure that was on purpose in hopes that it will entice people to choose them but then forget after the car is delivered - very clever.

Overall I was happy with my results, Ship A Car Direct gave me the confidence that they would get the job done right, which they follow through on and it was at the best price.
