Arrived Safely, but hold your ground with the carriers

My review of the Ship a Car Direct company is positive! Scott was my primary contact person who helped me find the carrier. When initially contacted, Scott found a carrier with plenty of time to have my car shipped from Florida to California prior to my anticipated move date. HOWEVER, my criticisms are the carriers themselves. The first carrier Scott found picked up my order or bid from Scott, but then contacted me personally to inform me that my car would arrive a few days early. This was impossible as I would have not yet arrived in California, thus leaving me with the headache of trying to find a solution to picking up the car. The carrier suggested leaving it at a nearby airport, but how would I have paid him the cash at the delivery and who would have me keys!?!? Thus, I canceled that carrier and Scott found a second one.

Finding the second carrier took longer than anticipated, even after Scott took a personal payment deduction to put it towards the amount the carrier could make on the car- very nice of him. Apparently, the amount paid prior to pick up goes to Ship a Car Direct, and the amount at the end to the carrier. After finding the second carrier, things went smoothly until the carrier informed me an hour prior to delivery that my car was not coming to me directly, but actually 30 min away and he needed me to pick it up. The second time a carrier tried to pull one over on me! I was already paying the guy $900, so was not about to pay for a taxi to get to him especially on such short notice. So, I informed him that I would be unable to meet him as he had my car and I had no other form of transportation. I also told him he picked up the bid knowing the delivery address and under no circumstances should he be able to decide where the car was being delivered and no one informed me at any time of any change in plans. Well, he delivered to the address originally indicated on the bid and the car was in perfect condition! So, I highly recommend Ship a Car Direct, I would use them again if needed, but beware of the carriers and remember they know the terms of bids they are picking up and don't let them try to convince you otherwise. The bids are contracts, hold them to it.
