I "inherited" 2 vehicles from my uncle. I shipped the first vehicle using a different company and I was thoroughly disappointed and unsatisfied. I was ready to fly to California to drive the other car back because I had a total mistrust with auto shipping companies. After reading different reviews, I decided to use Ship-A-Car-Direct. The sales representative Dave contacted me promptly. I asked MANY questions regarding the process/procedure because of my previous experience. David answered all question and reassured me that he will be there every step of the way. The price that was quoted was reasonable (compared to other companies) so I decided to give the auto shipping industry another chance. David contacted me when a shipper was set-up but told me that the price would be a little higher than the original quote. He told me that the truck driver is very reliable and had a good track record with them so I agreed to the slightly higher ($50 above) price. The car was picked up as scheduled with a thorough inspection done in the light of day. I was advised by Dave to have pictures taken of the car with the trucker present. The driver contacted me the day before (2 days earlier than scheduled) to set up a delivery time. Not only was the driver on time, he phoned me about 30 minutes before getting to the meeting point (a nearby Walmart parking lot since our street is narrow/small) and already had the car off the truck when I got there.- - I'm not sure how many more cars I will need to transport but I would definitely HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone shipping a car. - - Some closing advice: Never give the full shipping amount up front! The company will have no incentive to get your car to you on time if they have already been paid in full. With Ship-A-Car-Direct, they asked for a small deposit and the balance gets paid to the driver when you receive your car.
