I decided to use a broker to arrange shipment of my Dodge M-37 from NJ to South Carolina after reading horrible reviews about most big name transporters. Since my vehicle is higher then most I knew I had to remove the canvas top and bows. That meant the need for an enclosed transporter. Also, being a military vehicle there is no key to start the truck, rather a foot actuated pedal under the dash. That meant I had to be present on pickup and delivery.
Matt at Ship a Car Direct was exceptional. He found a carrier very soon and all sounded well. Eventually the driver called but then said he would be delayed. Ok, I was very flexible. When I called, he didn't, he said he would be further delayed. I contacted Matt and he reached out to driver.
The carrier finally arrived at my home and I must say I was quite concerned. First let me say that the driver, Robert, was very friendly and seemed like a great guy. But I was dismayed about the condition of his rig. I was expecting a gleaming professional truck but in reality it was a very dated race car hauler with old markings not the name of his company, Exodus II Logistics, being towed by old, very ratty 5th wheel Dodge pickup. At first thought I wouldn't trust it to get to the next town let alone South Carolina. The tie down binder straps were old and some partially ripped half through.
Anyway, he left and I headed to So Carolina. The driver said he would drive to maybe Virginia and arrive the next day. I called him late the next day and he said he wouldn't arrive until midnight. I called back saying that would not work. I bothered Matt again ( now glad I had Ship a Car Direct) and he called driver and arranged delivery for next morning.
Long story short, my vehicle did arrive safely with no damage. Total 41 hours for a 13 hour trip. But I must say I lost a few hairs during the ordeal. Thanks to Matt at Ship a Car who stayed with me the whole time. And the price was fair and lower then other carriers.
