I spent some time researching auto transport online so that I was in a position to choose a company. I also talked to a couple of broker/carriers to ask questions. I was sold on a firm until the broker suggested using a covered carrier which would have doubled my cost. My opinion is that covered carriers are appropriate for very valuable restored cars. I chose Ship A Car Direct because they had loads of information on their site, offered backup insurance on the car in the event the carrier would not cover damage, and had the best cost.

I ended up having an amazing experience in that a carrier was able to pick my car up in NM within one day and deliver it to me the next day. This really minimized logistical issues. my car was placed behind the truck cab on the first level of a 2 level, six car carrier and got no rock chips or bug hits.

my car was delivered in the same shape it was shipped in. I believe that the quality of the carrier is paramount and Shi A Car picked a great one for me.

I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

One other comment: the carrier expects payment in cash or certified check so be prepared.
