After reading one too many horror stories about car shipping companies, I definitely had my doubts. However, my car shipping experience was quite smooth. I told Adam at ship a car direct that I had MUST have my car picked up on a certain weekend because I would have to fly to DC that Monday. He assured me that he would not book the carrier unless that could be arranged. Furthermore, I would not have to pay a cent until then. He was true to his word! Once I talked to the carrier company I was set up with and confirmed that my car would be picked up the very next day, I was thrilled and was at that point willing to make my $250 deposit. The car was picked up on time , and arrived on time. The only problems I encountered was that the estimated ship date was a bit later than Adam had predicted and also, the delivery was not door to door as promised. This was because of DC road regulations in not permitting large transport vehicles in the area. The driver came as close as he could though, which was a few miles away, not a huge problem. The interior of the car (driver side) was a bit dirty, but I got the stains out with a carpet cleaner pretty easily. Probably from the drivers handling the car. I was a bit rushed in inspecting the car, but luckily didn't see any problems or damage. Paid the rest of the bill (cash only) and have been driving happily! Overall, I am satisfied with the experience and would use ShipACar again.

Thank you for the excellent review! You bring up a good point about "door-to-door": sometimes a truck is prohibited from meeting you at your address. Llarge cities can be tough either because of geography or heavy traffic or security issues. Residental areas can be tough if there are steep hills, low hanging trees, etc. Trucks need flat, open areas to load/unload.
