This was a horrendous experience almost from day one. After filling out a quote request, I was constantly spammed with automated emails. I visited their website which actually looked very professional and that was where I fell into the trap and road of no return. So do not be fooled by their professional appearing website or videos. They are dishonest, rude, unhelpful, and will certainly overcharge you.

I emailed them three simple, specific questions after reviewing their videos and visiting their site. My response email was: "Please take a look at our videos and FAQ section." I called Jason (name/number at the end of the countless automated emails) and even on our first conversation, he was curt and impolite. He basically had an attitude of "order with us or not, I don't care. Stop wasting my time on the phone. I can't answer half your questions anyway." I had asked about pickup date and dropoff date estimates. I was calling ~15-20 days in advance of my last available pickup date. I think those are pretty standard questions a customer is entitled to ask!

But, after all that, I was still stupid enough to place an order with them for $600 to transport a small sedan from Cleveland to NY. If you look at other sites, that is a pretty high price for a small sedan for that distance. They never got back to me after the order was placed. Weeks and days went by and I had to start emailing and calling them for updates. Updates which I never received. Don't even bother using the chat box on their website, it's completely useless. I was able to reach another representative at one point as my last available pickup date approached and he actually told me that my $600 quote was REALLY good and that someone would certainly pickup my car. I later found out that Ship a Car Direct takes a HUGE (>>>50%) cut from that $600 just to serve as middle man. I still hadn't received any news about my pickup 2 days before my last available pickup date. I received an email saying that I could pay even more money to make my offer more attractive to the truckers!!! Nice try. At that point, I called Jason who never picked up. I called the company directly, who couldn't resolve my problems and again told me to reach out to my original representative. I finally ended up going with another company who found me a trucker that same day! Even told me I could have paid way less!

Bottom line, avoid Ship A Car Direct. Unprofessional and nonexistent service.

So sorry we weren't able to complete your order. The owner of Ship a Car Direct spoke with Jason about your disappointment, and followed up with call to you directly. We have noted that you paid the carrier $100 more through the other company. Our office fee is a flat fee - it is not a 50% cut of every transport, it just feels greater when when your move is a short distance.
