Good experience!

Background:
First time I transported my car. Read/Heard horrible stories about damage, loss, ruined interior etc. None of this happened to me. I was pretty flexible regarding pickup date, but appreciated a predictable delivery date (not required, though). Deliberately did not take the lowest price. Chose Ship-A-Car-Direct for their rating and the fact that they encourage EVERYONE to submit a review by refunding a small amount of your total price.

Pickup and transit:
I felt so comfortable about pickup through transit, that I believe I inquired about the current location only once by calling Tom. Actual transport was taken care of by Motion Auto Carriers LLC.

Delivery:
The delivery date moved 3 times. I tried to contact Tom several times and received a call back after 1.5 day. All his coworkers could not tell me the location of my car. Since that was such a slow response compared to my experience so far, it felt like a month and made me nervous. In hindsight I should have called the carrier immediately; they were simply delayed. Apparently, delivery dates can slide a lot. I believe I wouldn’t be concerned about it during a future transport. The car was only dirty on the outside and on the wheel and heating buttons (parts of the dashboard the trucker touched). Good experience!

Thanks for your feedback, Jurrien! You bring up a common issue with cross-country transports. Timing is not exact because no two loads are the same - there are unique addresses and routes; drive times can be affected by weather, traffic, issues with other customers, etc. In the middle of a transport, the arrival estimate changes daily. The best time to get an accurate delivery estimate is when the truck arrives in the destination city.
