Cost of service + communication of process

I used a well used bidding site to solicit carriers for my vehicle from SoCal to Washington state, dozens of bids later I selected not the cheapest but a low bid. The carrier failed to provide pickup of my vehicle for a month, very poor communication of status.

I then searched for top ranked vehicle transport companies and chose ShipACarDirect. I was ready to get my vehicle out of the previous owner's driveway a month after purchasing it.

The price was almost exactly where all the previous bids started, telling me this is the going rate which will ensure a carrier will provide me with the service in a timely fashion.

The carrier was very good at communicating status on pickup, transit and delivery...much appreciated by me. My vehicle arrived in very good condition (cleaner than I expected) and only 4 days after pickup.

I would most definitely use ShipACarDirect again, hopefully working with Matt, who provided excellent service.

NOTE: sometimes the cheapest price is not the best deal...unless of course you may have months to wait on your vehicle eventually arriving at your driveway.

Thank you for the very informative review, Jim! You make an excellent point: the cheapest price is not typically the best deal. Often the lowest offer is not an accurate reflection of the transport market, and instead a fair offer saves you in time and frustration overall.
