After frustrating experiences w/ other brokers, Ship A Car Direct got it right

It was a bad situation made better by Tom and his company. I purchased a truck from NJ and needed a transportation company set up to bring the vehicle to CA. After dealing with two other brokers (I will admit I was attracted by their cheaper price), the process became a very frustrating and drawn out. The brokers could not "contract" with any truckers to bid on the lower price. The first company was actually nice, and apologized for the issue. The second company ("Wolf Pack Transport out of Porter Ranch) is actually in dispute with me right now due to them not successfully bidding for a trucker yet still want to charge me for "deposit" cost. Yes, I am mentioning another company due to its terrible treatment of a client that I want others to avoid, while I positively review a positive experience as well.

Ship A Car Direct was who I contacted to help given its high amount of reviews on here. True to its reputation, Tom and his company was on point and accurate with what he promised. I had a 15 min conversation with Tom over the phone and he was honest and gets right to the point - bottom line what he can and can't do. I appreciated his honesty as well as checking in with me each step of the way without "bombarding" me with junk email like the other brokers. I'll put it this way, Wolf Pack charged me a $225 deposit that they would not refund even though they did not contract any truckers for me (Scott over there is the main culprit for this), yet continues to email bomb me asking if I am interested to contract with them.

Bottom line, Tom and SCD are professionals in this industry while others have to cheat and lie about their service - they are nothing but amateurs in comparison to Tom.

Thank you for your very informative review, Wilson! You bring up excellent points about pricing in this industry. As much as a broker would like to get your business for the best price, it is the independent carriers who set their own rates and determine your final price. It's always in your best interest to start with an offer that a carrier will want to work for, and not all brokers are straight-forward about that. Sorry you had bad experiences with other brokers, but glad Tom got it right for you!
