Nice, but didn't deliver

I liked Greg and I liked the driver, but had some trouble with the delivery. I had to go out of my way because the initial drop-off estimate (by Diesel Auto Express, subcontractor) occurred before I would arrive. So, I fedexed a cashier's check (to someone I didn't really know well enough to ask me to do that big of a favor) because I really wanted my car to arrive within a day of my arrival. In fact, I actually managed without a car during a busy time/move for SEVEN days just to be sure that I had a car on the other end as I started my new job. Nope. Several taxi fares later, my car arrived three days late.

Another unsettling factor was that my contact said she had made a call after the delivery was not made and she was given a different contact number for the driver of my car. Apparently my car had switched trucks midroute? It turns out the dispatcher had given misinformation and panicked me. The same driver I had tipped at the beginning of the trip was in fact the person who ended up delivering my car but... not a confidence builder. Also, he drove my car off the truck and down my street with the emergency brake on and I could smell that burn in the inside of the car for a full day afterwards.

I was promised a rebate for writing this review, but I had to have a phone call (for reasons unbeknownst to me) with my agent before I could be sent the link. A game of phone tag ensued that lasted two weeks. I'm still not sure of the purpose of asking me to have the call before the written review. Would have been so much simpler if I had just been sent a link! You can be sure that I will come back and revise the grade downward if I don't end up getting my rebate after all that hassle.

Still, Greg was always responsive and much better with customer service than other companies I spoke to and priced out.

Thank you for your feedback. You bring up some really important points - including timing estimates, which is a common frustration. Carriers do provide targets and estimates, but cannot micromanage traffic or weather or other customers. It is best to leave wiggle room around carrier projections. Also, we are happy to help communicate with your carrier - so when there seems to be an issue, we want to know about it.
