During this process there were 2 companies you will be dealing with. Safe-Direct was the broker and Red Line Auto Transport was my carrier. Matt at Safe-Direct was great to work with. He kept in constant contact both before, during, and after the shipping process. I had some issues with the carrier and Matt stepped in to help. I contacted my brokers and some were pushy some apathetic. Matt was the right balance between keeping in touch, but not being overly aggressive. I would recommend Matt and Safe-Direct and would use them again.

Red Line was a little above average. They did their primary job effectively which was to ship the car without damage. However, their communication could be improved. I felt like I was waiting around for them. Even when I called the dispatch they did not know where the driver was and gave me incorrect information about the pick-up time. My car was scheduled to be picked up on Thursday. Dispatch told me the car was picked-up which it wasn't. Then they told me Thursday night or Friday morning. After not hearing anything Friday monrning, I called Safe-Direct who called dispatch and told me 2PM. The Driver finally called and gave me 1 hour notice. Car was picked-up 6:30PM on Friday.

I called the driver Saturday morning to find out when the car would be delivered and he said he would do it Monday. It was delivered Saturday night with less than 1 hour notice. So I would recommend Red Line but have the expectation that you need to be flexible and you may have to take the initiative to keep in constant contact with them and the carrier to get what you need.

Thanks for your very informative feedback, Paul! You are so right about arrival estimates - because your carrier's route is unique each week, drive times are not exact. It is best to have some flexibility and/or a back-up plan around the carrier's estimates.
