I was very paranoid about dealing with a broker to ship a car. The last time I did was a complete disaster! Amanda tried her best to reassure me that all would be fine. The original quote was $50 less than I paid, but Amanda told me she wouldn't be able to get a trucker to pick it up unless I increased it. I didn't have time to find out if that was true, so I agreed. My daughter needed the car to start work on Monday, and the car arrived on Sunday. Good enough! It has one scratch on the hood which I'm confident will be taken care of. The rest of the car was just fine. My biggest complaint was Amanda told me I could pack 100 pounds of personal items in the trunk. The shipper told me I couldn't. However, when I saw the contract from the shipper (too late to load up the trunk at this point) the contract said I could pack 100 pounds in the trunk. Now I need to ship things at my expense! I would be comfortable using Safe-Direct Car Shipping again. I told Amanda that the shipper wouldn't let me put 100 pounds in the trunk, and she's looking into it. She also said if I have any problem with the trucker regarding the scratch to contract her. I appreciate that!

Thanks for your feedback, Cathy! While we always try to provide the most realistic affordable quotes, sometimes there isn't a carrier available in your time frame at the lowest price and we have to recommend a slight increase to your offer. Most carriers will allow up to 100 pounds of additional weight in the vehicle, but it isn't guaranteed - sometimes a weight restriction applies depending on the other vehicles on the same load. Thanks for bringing up these issues - they are common concerns.
