Transporting car from coast to coast

My experience with sending my car from California to North Carolina via Safe Direct was good and bad. Tom Miller from Safe Direct was very helpful. He would answer me whenever I required some information.

The Auto Transporter NPS Auto Transport should have done a better job. They took a day more than initially promised to bring the car. The lady at the office got panicked to know that I have a Cashier's check ready and insisted that I get cash ready for the delivery. That was a Sunday, with no bank open. So, I was required to draw $700 again from a ATM. However, later she got educated that Cashier's check was fine. Till that time she has given me the unnecessary anxiety already.

The worst part was with the delivery. The truck driver asked me to come to either a Walmart or Home Depot for the delivery as it wont be possible for him to deliver it to my location with his big truck. I went to Walmart in my rented car. The truck driver handed me the car keys and departed. I now have two cars to take home !!!!! There started my horrible Sunday experience. I drove one car home, walked down an hour in the dark, some roads not having walk ways, and drove the other one back.

However, the car was in good shape, no damages. The stuff I kept in the trunk was fine.
