My primary interaction was with Tom, which I was very satisfied with. He was great with follow ups and keeping me pisted via emails and over the phone. However I didn't have he greatest experience with the move itself.

The carrier company KJ Flacon Log LLC called me on a Sunday evening and made a huge fuss reg placing items in the car. He said he'd charge $20 for every 10 lbs! When I said I have to check with Tom about it - abrasive and abusive language was used. They said the pick up the following mornng would be cancelled. Safe-direct website has a video clip that mentions an allowance of upto 100lbs in the car. Tom was unreachable during this time since it was a sunday evening.This was cleared up on Monday morning with an agreement to pay an additional $50 to the carriers. The pick up went smoothly. During pick up I was told my car will be delivered on Wednesday. I had sepcifically requested for a Sunday delivery since I was to reach VA only late Saturday evening. I reached Tom and he said delivery would be made on Saturday. However the car landed up on Friday morning! I received a call from the drivers stating they've been outside the house since 7am (they called close to 10am). This was a lie. They were still enroute. They said they would charge extra for the delays. It was terrible to make last minute arrangements on such short notice, especially when the drivers were so rude and ridiculous and would do anything to make a quick buck. The car was handed over safely on Friday afternoon.

Although I'm happy that my car arrived safely - I'm not happy about the way the carriers made things very difficult. I had read the reviews about the carriers and expressed my concern to Tom as soon as my car was scheduled with them. Tom assured they were a regular carrier for Safe-Direct and there would be no problems. Unfortunately I don't think Tom had much control over the carriers once the car was dispatched.

I will use Safe-Direct again, but I will plan ahead in terms of flexibity.

Thanks for the informative review, Prathna! I'm sorry the carriers didn't respond well to the items left in your vehicle, we don't actually suggest that the 100 lb weight limit is guaranteed. (It is always up to the discretion of the carrier, our quotes are for empty vehicles only!) Yes, flexibility is always a good idea, as carriers can only provide estimates for their arrival (until they are very close).
