Safe-Direct pretty good, but brokered carrier not so great

The delivery was delayed several times over, due to carrier "mechanical problems." All of which I found out about after either waiting for delivery and/or phone call from the carrier, at which time I had to initiate contact.  The carrier never once called on their own to say, 'hey your vehicle is on schedule or has been delayed.' 

The car appeared fine upon inspection. However, the car had been driven over 200 miles.  The carrier said this occurred on the west coast as he couldn't find a suitable spot in Los Angeles to load the truck.  (In all of L.A., really? Over 200 miles puts you somewhere near Las Vegas- which I can only guess was most likely their next pick-up spot, and a time saver to load two cars at once.)

I would have liked some kind of follow up from Safe-Direct or the carrier VIP Haul Inc during transport.

I had a pretty good experience setting things up with Safe-Direct, which gave me the peace of mind to ship my car.  But, I did not have a great experience with the brokered carrier. Because of this, I'd have  a difficult time in using Safe-Direct Car Shipping again to recommend/broker another carrier.

Totally understandable, Catrina. I would feel the same in your position. I agree about the mileage, unacceptable, and have removed this carrier from our list. My apologies for the communication too. Once we put you in direct contact, we usually don't need to step back in unless you or the carrier alerts us to a problem, and in this case, we didn't hear from either party until it was too late, unfortunately.
