Dave was great but the hauler not so much

I have no complaints about Dave or Safe-Direct and how he handled my order. He always took my phone calls and emails and tried to mediate between the hauler and I. What I didn't like is the fact that you can do all this research on auto transportation companies, trying to find someone who will treat your possessions the way you would. But in the end, they are just a broker, and the person actually hauling your vehicle is just a trucker that took your bid. Unfortunately Safe-direct's rep is tied to how well the hauler did their job. I was not pleased with NTA Motorsports, they over promised and under delivered the entire way as to timing and loading and unloading. They were two days late picking my truck up and then the day they were supposed to finally be there they were four hours late and requested help from neighbors to push the truck onto the hauler because their wench was not motorized (I specifically requested a hauler that could move a non operational vehicle). Delivery was another fiasco, the hauler was due in on Thursday but called on Tuesday stating they could deliver a day early (great I thought). Since he needed help again to unload I had to line people up and request they take time off of work to meet the truck with a time of delivery between 9:00-12:00pm (huge window). The hauler called me at 10am that day and says he's still in Oregon and can't make it, that he had problems unloading another vehicle the night before. So then I had to piss off three very helpful friends and ask them to come back the next day when he finally showed up. The only positive thing I can say about NTA Motorsports is that my 1956 Ford F100 was well taken care of and they took extra special care strapping it down and moving it. In the end the Truck is here, nothing bad happened to it and my husbands Christmas present made it in time to be unwrapped. I guess that is what I paid for even if it was a HUGE stress on my friends, my family and me. Next time I will just do it myself, less headache.
