Im a long haul trucker. I started working for Ship my Ride with no prior knowledge of auto carriers, and it quickly became apparent that this is NOT the place to learn.. The absolute worst business practice comes when the owner tells you to use CUSTOMER VEHICLES to drive and pick up parts for repairs, which he expects you to do yourself. Layovers with two drivers require one of the drivers to sleep in a customers vehicle overnight as the owner does not pay for motels. When loading a customers vehicle, the equipment and hydraulics are old and abused, so your vehicle does not lift straight but at odd angles. This can cause damage, which I witnessed as the owner was hoisting a vehicle into position. I informed him of it, he cursed and said I should have been watching, but I am being trained on the unit and have no prior knowledge. The damage gets noted on a Vehicle Condition Report, however he will try and say it was pre-existing You are taking a risk by using this company. A quick visual inspection of the trailers they use will leave you uneasy. No preventative or regular maintenance is performed, CVIPs are forged through his "guy", and a mess of hydraulic fluid that leaks wherever you park turns the stomach. Please be wary is you decide to use this company. Take pictures of your vehicle, note any existing damage, and document it. This is very important.
