The good news is that my car eventually arrived at the destination... unfortunately good news stops there. SVP Auto Shipping, specifically Steve Burley provided exceptionally awful service for me while i was in the process of shipping my car from Toronto - Vancouver. Firstly, I will say that I was a university student at the time working 2 jobs to cover the costs of shipping my car and funding my education. When i was looking at shipping companies this one stood out to me as their response time was excellent and I felt confident that the price although expensive, meant that my car would be treated well. When my car finally arrived at the yard in Vancouver I received an email telling me i had to come and collect my car urgently (with no notice) as they would charge me approx $100 a day to hold my car at the yard if I didn't come right away. As i had spent around $2000 on the shipment already, I really couldn't take the risk of collecting more fees so I went to get my car immediately (had to take a day off work losing money I couldn't afford to). Upon arrival at the yard ($30 taxi to the ferry, $60 ferry from the island to the mainland, $85 taxi to the yard), I was told they had no record of my car at any of their yards and could not provide me any information. I walked the car yard in the cold winter weather for about an hour, trying to find my car as I was stranded and now very concerned. When i emailed and called Steve Burley and SVP Auto they ignored my calls and emails. I had to beg them for a response at all and they finally said "should be there next Tuesday - come right away to avoid parking costs". No acknowledgement of mistake or that they made me spend hundreds of additional hours and take a day off work to come out here. I was not apologized to nor was I provided any kind of explanation or refund for this incredible disservice. The lady at the yard was so lovely and even offered to let me spend the night at her house as it would take me about 5-6 hours to arrive back home (after already traveling 5 hours to the location). She also told me that SVP is well known for these kinds of things happening and that nothing would surprise her with this company. After taking another $80 taxi from the yard to the ferry, $60 ferry back to the island, and $20 taxi home, I was exhausted and upset that this company could so happily take $2000 of my money then feel nothing about inconveniencing me further despite my constant expression of not having the money for all these trips back and fourth. I requested that they deliver my car to the island or at least to the ferry to save me some costs (a service they originally offered for an additional cost) and I could not get a response. It has now been a year since this event happened and I will never forget the unprofessional attitude of this company. When i finally received my car (after paying more taxis and ferries, and taking another day off work), it was COVERED in dirt and mud, the inside seat had been stained severely that I had to remove the cover of both the seat and the steering wheel before getting in and driving home. The interior of my car had caked on mud on the driving controls and the door handle was disgusting, not to mention the key to my Jeep had dirt caked in the crevices. My quoted cost was $1598 + taxes, my final costs were: approx. $2835 (not including the costs of having my car cleaned). Please whatever you do, pick a company that has respect for you, your time, your hard earned money, and your possessions.

As mentioned previously, when shipping a vehicle you should always provide as much information to the company you are dealing with, so they can transport your vehicle according to your needs to avoid any miscommunication. It is best that you always wait to hear that your vehicle has physically arrived at a pick up location before going to retrieve your vehicle (especially during the winter months). In this case this vehicle was transported in FEBRUARY 2019 (in bad weather) nearly 2 years ago, and unfortunately the owner did not pride information that was needed for transporting her vehicle for their specific needs, causing miscommunication.
