Shipper beware!!! We recently purchased a vehicle from Motorwerks in the IL area. The vehicle was in excellent shape. As part of the transaction Motorwerks assumed responsibility to facilitate the delivery of the vehicle to our location in FL. While picking up the vehicle it was photographed and all marks were documented (which were basically none). We received a call from the delivery company stating the vehicle would be delivered on a Friday night. Me and my family remained home and never heard from them. We placed multiple calls to Motorwerks and the delivery company. We could get no information. On Sunday we received a call saying it would arrive Tuesday. When the vehicle arrived it had damage to the bumper and drivers side. We provided photo’s to both SDM and Motorwerks. We were told to obtain 2 estimates and that they would cover the damage. We did exactly that. Then we received a release of claim to sign. While I had no issue signing it, it also included a guaranty to indemnify SDM for any future claims that may arise, including injury, that may of occurred re:the delivery. Being 1). We didnt contract SDM, Motorwerks did & 2). We were not privy of anything prior to it arriving at our location (especially the part where it disappeared for days) I was concerned. I spoke to my attorney and had him review the document. He agreed 100%. We were and are prepared to sign a release of claim for the damage, the other section is over reaching and is not common. Thus they will not rerimburse us for the damage they created.
