Good booking experience, bad delivery experience

My experience dealing with Red Carpet was fine. They tell you right away that it takes 1-10 business days to pick up a vehicle. Mine was picked up on business day 7 (Monday). I called them twice while waiting for the vehicle to be assigned to the carrier. Once after 4 business days to check on the status, and once on the 7th business day at which point Becky told me she found the carrier and the car was getting picked up that same day. Becky was always nice and helpful in all conversations. I was told the car would arrive on Wednesday of the same week.

That was where the experience stopped being good and started being bad. I'm giving Red Carpet good marks because they did their part well and once the car was on the truck, things were pretty much out of their hands. Anyway, the car was picked up by A.R. Trucking. I called the dispatcher and got the driver's phone number. Called the driver on Tuesday night just to verify that everything is still on schedule and to approximate the drop-off time on Wednesday. I was told everything was still on schedule and he'll drop off the car at my place some time after 5 PM. Well, the drop-off didn't actually happen. No call to let me know. I called the driver before going to bed and he told me that since he was late, he'd bring the car to my work place for me to check it out and then take it back to my home to drop it off. Seemed reasonable enough and I agreed. He told me he'd be there by noon. He didn't show up neither at my work, nor at my house by noon that day. Phone call? Nope. I called him after work and he didn't even answer. I got Becky involved and 20 minutes later I get a phone call from the driver calling me out on why I told his dispatcher that he does not return my calls. Whatever. He told me he was on his way to my place and he'll drop off the car that evening. He didn't. No phone call. I called him. We made an arrangement for him to drop off the car on Friday at 6 AM. He didn't. I called him. We made an arrangement for him to come out to my work again and then take the car to my home. He didn't show up at my work. I called him after work and he told me I'm the next person on his list. He finally showed up around 6 PM on Friday evening. The car was in fine condition and the driver was much better in person than on the phone.

The point is, and maybe A.R. Trucking and Red Carpet can pay attention. I understand that road is unpredictable and things go wrong. I understand making appointments and missing them due to unforseen circumstances. What I do not understand is lack of communication when situations do come up. When I spoke to Becky on Thursday evening, she told me she completely agrees and will tell A.R. Trucking that if they want to continue getting business from Red Carpet to turn customer service up. My suggestion, if you ship your car with Red Carpet, ask Becky or any other rep to not use A.R. Trucking for transporting your vehicle.
