Total Cost: $1875 ($900 for HI to CA, $700 for CA to LA, $275 fee for RCA services)
Total Transport time: 21 days (original estimate 23-26 days)

PROS: It was great to have a personal point person for my shipping needs from Hawaii to Louisiana. Julie and the other staff encountered through Red Carpet were extremely friendly and helpful when I inquired about dates/times/tracking/etc.

CONS: Not sure if these comments have anything to do with Red Carpet as they contract the driver (who is employed by a different company). The driver originally estimated my car to arrive 3 days early but then had to cancel that with about 24hrs of notice due to some unknown reason. The car still arrived two days earlier than originally estimated, so I was happy with that. There were no major dents or scrapes, though the car was EXTREMELY dirty from the voyage/cross country trip and there may be some extra small dings on the driver's side I didn't notice in Hawaii (though I don't think my car has ever been this dirty, so that might be why I can see them now).

OVERALL: Go with Red Carpet. They will give you a fair price and fantastic customer service. You MIGHT be able to get cheaper prices if you set up your own transporter/driver in California after the pacific voyage, but this would worry me since I'm not there to confirm that my car gets from Long Beach port to the car pickup in LA. For peace of mind alone, I'm glad I went with RCA because I just had to drop it off with Matson, then meet the driver in a large parking lot only a couple miles from my new place to pick it up. Easy-breezy.
