I contracted R&R Auto Express Inc through a shipping broker to carry my car from Florida to Virginia. I should have realized things were amiss when the driver showed up 3 hours late to pick up the car without any apology and then zoomed off in my vehicle while chattering on his cell phone without much regard to me.
Sure enough, 3 days later about 12 hours after the vehicle should have been delivered, i received a call from the owner Ruth Caminero telling me that my vehicle had sustained "light damage" and that they would take care of the "minor" scratches...but asked that I not include their insurance company.
When my brother in Virginia reached the scene, he found out that the driver (co-owner Rodolfo) had decided to try his luck and drive his truck under a low bridge (!!!). The gamble obviously failed, and my car which was on the top deck of his rig was written off. My brother told me it looked like the car went through a metal shredder...so much for the light damage that they told me on the phone. That was the beginning of my problems - they then started avoiding my calls and emails requesting their insurance information and the refund of the $450 I paid them. I only later got their insurance info from the broker who booked them on my behalf. The brokers were also shocked at their service and utter lack of professionalism and safety.
Thankfully, my insurance company (Geico) were outstanding in their customer service and promptly took care of my needs. I am still waiting to hear back from R&R to get a refund - a paltry sum of $450 considering they destroyed my vehicle through sheer stupidity and carelessness. On top of that, they provided false information and then refused to even acknowledge my desperate emails and phone calls.
Stay well clear of these guys is my advice. I have also complained to the BBB and the Federal Department of Transport regarding this outfit.
