HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

I did not have a good experience with Don at Priced Rite Auto.

I contacted Don 30 days in advance of my target shipment date. Don set the rate at a level that put me in the upper half of cars listed for my lane, and indicated that there should be no problem getting my car picked up on that day.

One week before scheduled pickup, I had not heard from Don, so I checked in, and was again told there should be no problems. Two days before scheduled pick-up, I still hadn’t heard from Don, so I called again. Once again I was told there was no problem, he was working on finding a carrier and would get back to me shortly. But after this call, I never heard back from Don.

My attempts to reach Don one day before desired pick-up, day of desired pick-up, day after desired pick-up, etc. were unsuccessful.

Communication with Don was not just poor, it was nonexistent. I have no idea why my car is still sitting 3000 miles away in MD. Was the rate offered too low, were unusual things going on in the market, did a family member die? I have no idea since Don didn’t return my calls/e-mails.

I finally cancelled the order and switched to another broker.

Reply to PricedRite Auto Initial Response:

The term “Caveat Emptor” definitely applies when dealing with PricedRite Auto.

First, Don tried to get this review removed by claiming I was not a customer. Then he made other false claims in his response to this review.

I contacted Don 30 days in advance of the move, and at no time did he indicate this was a “tough route” that would be difficult to fill. If he had, I would have made arrangements to have the car moved to Baltimore to expedite pick up. Apparently he didn’t start looking for a carrier until a couple of days before the scheduled move, and when he couldn’t find one, dropped off the grid.

This is no big deal for Don. He can just move onto the next order. But my car is still sitting in Ocean City because of his incompetence/dishonesty with me. Telling me after the scheduled pickup date has been missed that he is having trouble filling the order is not very helpful. If this was going to be an issue, I should have been told well in advance so I could have made other arrangements. Now I am 3,000 miles away from where the car is, and getting the car to Baltimore at this point is much more challenging.

Spouse Feedback:

Don misled us. For over a week, we waited for our car to be transported from Ocean Pines, MD to California and Don kept promising it'll happen soon.

While my husband was in Ocean Pines, Don assured us our car would be picked in couple of days, so in good faith we left the car there and my husband came to California. My husband and I called Don to follow up numerous times and when we were finally able to reach him, he said the same thing ... "it should be picked up soon".

Days went by with no word from Don and no response to our messages. Both of us became very frustrated.

Bottom line, our car was never picked up. In his initial response to this post, Don claimed that this was a “tough route” and he couldn’t find a “carrier at any price.” But he never mentioned this as a concern when we booked the order, or at any time prior to our desired ship date.

Don wasted our time, caused us a lot of stress, and failed to deliver!

We could not find a driver for them that was willing to go to the coastline of Md. the clients vehicle was the only one there and it wasn't worth their time to go and pick it up. I did speak with his wife and explained the situation. In this industry we are all at the mercy of the carriers. If they don't call they just don't want to pick it up. We try to accommodate everyone but once in a while we just can't find a carrier. Most companies don't even call on routes like this one.
