DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY - THEY CHEAT PEOPLE. I contracted to have my car shipped from Michigan to Denver. The contract price was $675 plus I would receive a free gas card for $300. Despite a written contract, this company changed the price to $700. I paid the driver the $700 and then, upon checking my credit card bill, saw that Polar had charged me an additional $175! That's $875 total ($700 to driver, plus $175 to Polar) ON A CONTRACT THAT SAID $675!
I checked the agreement and the $175 is clearly listed as a "DEPOSIT" and nowhere does it say that it shall be charged in addition to the contract price!
I called for the gas card and they said they would send it now that I had called. I stated that under the contract they are supposed to send it out regardless (ie., nowhere does it state that I have to call them) and they stated it was there policy not to send the gas cards unless the customer complained about it.
Finally, they claimed their contracts allow them to change the price at any time. This is not true. The contract states:
Due to changing and unpredictable market conditions, seasonal weather, traffic, mechanical difficulties, and fluctuating fuel prices, drivers rates can increase or decrease after an order has been placed. Customer is aware of such possibility, in such case customer will be notified. If customer does not want to pay what the C.O.D. carriers are requesting customer may cancel the order. An administration fee of $50.00 will be applied all cancellations no exeptions.
They never gave a reason (weather, traffic, mechanical difficulties, fuel prices etc.), they just said the driver wanted more. After several calls one manager said "It must have been the weather. Its winter."
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE ABSOLUTE THIEVES!!!!
