Waste of time

I picked Parker Auto Transport because of the reviews here on this exact site. Unfortunately, the site let me down.

I don't have any trouble believing that if you're shipping a car from an area (e.g. Arizona) where they can use their own trucks they will do an excellent job. But in my case - shipping a car from NC to CA - they were a complete waste of time.

Since they couldn't pick up the car themselves in NC, they basically looked for a driver in the same way (other) brokers do - they put up an ad in some bulletin board and wait for a driver to take it.

Now, I knew that coming in, and that's why I requested the quote and engaged with them two weeks before I needed the car picked up. And I did get the quote and gave the green light for them to start looking for a driver to pick up on a specific date (with the date being two weeks away at that point, plenty of time to find a driver).

Thing is: they completely forgot about me. The excuse was that two weeks was too long to wait, but - seriously? If that was the case, well, they could have made a note and e-mailed me again one week in advance, and started looking then. But no - they simply forgot and when I called the day the car was available they seemed too busy to help me.

I was travelling so I didn't have time to find somebody else and I basically asked them to start looking that day then. But, of course, there weren't any drivers available. Had they listed to me and started looking two weeks in advance, this wouldn't have happened.

A week later, essentially the dealer that was holding the car got tired of waiting, made some calls, and got another company to pick it up.

That same day Parker came back to me and said they had a driver... that would be able to pickup the car another week later and deliver it in three weeks (this after some negotiation with the driver, because initially the driver wanted an outrageous amount of money).

By then the dealer had had the car picked up by somebody else - I ended up getting the car a week later - thanks to the dealer.

Bottom line is: they're a small company, they're too busy to take good care of people who they can't use their own trucks for, and therefore you may want to look elsewhere if you're moving a car from, say, North Carolina.

WOW. no good deed goes un-punished! I think my reviews speak for themself. If you were that un-happy with my service, why did you continue to have me work on your vehicle to find you a driver?
