Customer Call back lacking when broken winch reported by driver. Driver / delivery - dangerous practices, damage.

The delivery date was moved up a day before the scheduled date, then back to a day after the scheduled date. I see this as logistical movement and is not a factor in my final rating. Annoying but understandable.

Although the order clearly stated that the car didn't run, the truck that was sent had a broken winch. When this was discovered, my wife reported this to Mario Lopez, but did not receive a call back as to a possible technical resolution.

The driver stated that he needed to get a come-along from a friend and was thus delayed. Not a big deal on its own, but the come-along was hooked to the vent cowling on the front of the car beneath the radiator, and curled the cowling about 4 inches back like a tuna can. This despite the fact that the car is a 1950 Ford Custom Sedan and has many rigid steel anchor points. The cowling had survived 66 years intact, but was damaged in a way that will be a huge pain in the butt to fix.

When the driver arrived he was very personable and made an effort to be courteous and helpful. However, he took the car out of gear, removed the blocks beneath the wheels, and undid all of the hold downs, leaving the car free-rolling, and gave it a nice test push with no one at the wheel before getting under it to put down the ramps.

Although the car was unloaded without further incident, I would suggest that the company review the proper way to release the tie downs, so that the car cannot roll off of the trailer before there is anyone to steer it, or ramps in place. Irresponsible.
